Special Education Needs Specialist Advisory Practitioner
-
Aug 2017 - Jan 2020
I worked across the Learning, Communication and Interaction Team and The Early Years Support Team within the Special Needs Support Service. Working with a caseload of students across Leicester City with special educational needs and disabilities, I conducted observations and assessments to determine the student’s most prominent needs. I also provided training, recommendations, reports and interventions to staff within school to enable them to further support the target students. With children under 5 years, I delivered home teaching sessions to families who had children identified as having special educational needs. As well as this, I also supported families in other areas of need. This includes applying for school placements, behaviour management strategies and child protection issues. Show less
