Mental health physiotherapy role including core areas of MSK, neuro and respiratory. I created the physiotherapy service here, including groups for Falls, Parkinson's, Low back pain and COPD. I have completed my intermediate APPI Pilates training.I have implemented a training structure to enable a comprehensive service, training and signing off competencies for support workers and assistants. Furthermore, I work completely autonomously utilising the mdt to establish the physiotherapy role. I am currently working on improving efficiency and effectiveness of the therapy team using the rapid process improvement workshop theories, an initial report has suggested that this has removed 100% of wastes and we now have 83% more value added time with patients.

Holistic approach to patients involving all core physiotherapy areas. Expanded knowledge of renal medicine and effects of CKD upon patient recovery. Worked autonomously at a band 5 physiotherapist level including auditing, planning, prioritisation and delegation when appropriate in a busy acute setting. Provided autonomous discharge planning advice for the entire MDT, arranging meetings to increase discharge rate when required. Self acknowledged an area for improvement in acute respiratory care and requested experience in this which included responding to a bleep, chest x-ray training and treating a patient on a separate ward who required Yanker suction. Able to cover any ward at short notice when staffing levels were low to help the medicine team.

Worked closely with other disciplines thus developing my inter-professional and multidisciplinary working skills. Developed the skills of both delegation and acquiring knowledge from team members. Conducted pulmonary rehabilitation classes which included presentations on multiple topics regarding COPD which built both confidence and knowledge. Provided reassurance and aided confidence of breathless patients which proved to be character building. A learning need was self identified for respiratory medication knowledge, this was met and BTS guidelines were thoroughly learnt.
