After a 6 months secondment, through the John Lewis Golden Jubilee Trust. I became a permanent member of staff in the newly formed learning and development team. My role involved identifying staff training needs, designing and delivering training in a cost effective and efficient way, through a wide range of resources, using both internal and external sources. I understood the importance of evaluating training and its return on investment and identifying the opportunities to support continued transfer of learning and embedding a learning culture. I provided ongoing support to managers by liaising with them regarding their personal development and the development of their teams. I played a key supportive role to staff going through difficult times such as change.
