Charlotte collaboratively plans all her units following the American Common Core Standards. While planning she keeps her students’ background knowledge, interests, ability levels, and the expected school-wide learning results in mind. This enables her students to become effective communicators, responsible global citizens, and independent life-long learners. She uses a balanced literacy program along with Lucy Calkin’s, Writing Workshop to help her students develop a love for both reading and writing. Differentiation is embedded into her daily lessons and activities.
