I worked here as a Leisure assistant within the Sports and Leisure team. This job was extremely customer service based, engaging with customers of all ages, answering queries and ensuring their holidays with us were the best they could be. I did a range of different jobs within this role, including working in a golf/bike hire kiosk, running pedalos and water walker sessions along with basic maintenance around the sports and leisure facility such as fixing bikes, cleaning the beaches and ensuring the area was presentable. This job was only a summer job during the company’s peak season which was ideal whilst I was at home from university. Peak season at a holiday park can be very busy and therefore I had to work efficiently at a fast pace and under pressure. Show less

I trained as a lifeguard and gained the NPLQ qualification, I then worked as a lifeguard for 6 months and quickly progressed to assisting the swim coaches for the children’s swim school. I was put forward to take the ASA Level 1 swimming assistant (teaching) course, after this I was able to take my own classes in the swim school. This job allowed me to communicate with both the children and their parents but also work within a team of other swim teachers. A very busy family owned successful café /licensed restaurant. Mainly front of house, carrying out all aspects of restaurant work; from waiting on tables, cash/card handling, washing up, opening and closing preparation. I worked here for a number of years, at weekends whilst I was still at school and then full time during my gap year. Working here has given me great transferable communicative skills as I was speaking to customers every day and consequently felt very comfortable dealing with any queries or problems they had. Abbey Park Farm Shop was a very popular restaurant and became very busy at times meaning I had to carry out task very quickly and efficiently. Show less
