I was a shadow intern on a research trip in Cenderawasih Bay (Papua New Guinea) where I observed the scientists fitting whale sharks with GPS-enabled tags. These tags collected data to better understand the movement and behavior patterns of whale sharks, and it was then combined into a species database. I then used this data to write my 4,000 word Extended Essay for the International Baccaleaureate curriculum titled "An Analysis of the Seasonal and Daily Changes in Diving Patterns of Whale Sharks" Show less
