Projects have included: - Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) Impact Study. Research in six regions in New Zealand and five Pacific Island countries (Fiji, Kiribati, Samoa, Tonga and Vanuatu) to examine the social and economic impacts of the RSE scheme on, and for, New Zealand communities, and for RSE workers, their families and island-based communities. - Post-implementation review of the Canterbury Reconstruction Programme. - Review of labour mobility in the Pacific region for the Pacific Immigration Directors' Conference. - Research on the earnings and remittances of ni-Vanuatu workers employed in NZ under the Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) policy. - A viability assessment of labour mobility capacity in 11 Pacific Island countries. Contracted as part of a team by the NZ Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT). - Development of a National Labour Migration Policy and Action Plan for Tuvalu. - Part of a team contracted by the ILO to produce a compendium of legislation and institutional arrangements for labour migration in Pacific Island countries. - A mid-term evaluation of the Strengthening Pacific Partnerships programme that is designed to build labour sending capacity in Pacific Island countries. - Part of a team contracted by the (former) NZ Department of Labour to evaluate the first two years of the RSE policy.
