Hanne Støvring
In 2009 I had the great pleasure to work with costume designer Charlotte Østergaard in connection to a big Wilhelm Freddie exhibit at Statens Museum for Kunst (The National Gallery of Denmark). We chose to develop and perform at the museum stage - a ballet made by Wilhelm Freddie "Kærlighedens Triumf". Charlotte developped the surrealistic costumes by reading the manuscript, listening to the music and by seing old photograps from the performance in 1940... and she was ideel for this artistic challenge. The costumes and the ballet was a succes - and the costumes were afterwards exhibited at the National Gallery and at KUNSTEN in Aalborg. I got to know Charlotte as a talented, creative and very serious designer - and I found out that on top of professionality she's a warm, helpful and very generous person with focus on the whole as well as the details. I would always give Charlotte my best recommandations. She's very special!

In my artistic research the ambition is to explore costume as a relational practice between agents, positions, disciplines, perspectives, epistemologies, methodologies, and other. I study how particular costumes in specific situations can become vehicles for co-creational processes between humans and materials. I investigate how co-creators (for example, people, materialities and spaces) inform, engage, respond, disturb, and affect the creative process.
