I am part of an organization called North Risk Partners (NRP), which is a relationship-focused business and independent agency. We help business to be more profitable by committing the necessary resources to help our clients manage their risk associated with running a business. North Risk Partners core competencies include, but are not limited to: • Employee Benefits • Property & Casualty • Retirement Planning • Executive Benefits • HR Consulting On March 23, 2010 The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was signed into law by our President. Sometime before the law was passed, the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, coined the phrase “We have to pass the bill so that we can find out what is in it!" As backwards as this sounded, the irony is that there is a lot of truth in her statement. Since 2010 the law has been changed, modified and parts have been removed. The ACA has challenged both individuals and businesses in a variety of different ways. The law is very complex and has presented many businesses with new challenges, such as: • New compliance requirements • Pay or play provisions • Reporting • New fiduciary obligations • Mandatory notices • Additional administrative responsibilities • Increased cost Prior to August 2015 I owned and operated an insurance agency, Cornerstone Benefits Inc. After more than a year of discernment, I made the decision to join forces with BMG in August of 2015 who later merged with NRP in April 2018 . I am proud to be part independent agency that has 25 offices in MN and offices in Iowa and Nebraska. Our mission is clear #OneTeam #One Mission. Our primary purpose is to serve our clients and help them manage their risk. I would welcome the opportunity to grab a cup of coffee and learn more about your business, any challenges or opportunities you face today and tomorrow.
