  Councilmember Jones (a.k.a. Chappie) was elected to the San José City Council in November of 2014 with close to 60% of the popular vote. He represents City Council District 1, the region of West San José (west of Hwy. 17 & 880) that borders the cities of Campbell, Cupertino, Santa Clara and Saratoga. I spearheaded the office's first annual "Mobility Challenge," which asked high school and college students to propose innovative solutions to the area's most pressing transportation problems. Specifically, I raised $300 from corporate sponsors in prize money while marketing the project to local youth. To complement this project, I also helped organize the 1st Annual Transportation Forum, which gathered various officials from the public and private sectors to present our latest progress in transportation innovation to the public.   Senate District 15 is compromised of a large portion of Santa Clara County including much of Cupertino, Lost Gatos, Campbell, Saratoga, Monte Sereno, and the San Jose communities of Willow Glen, Almaden, Evergreen, East San Jose, and Downtown. The district's constituency is among the most diverse in the state, and the Senate office is in charge of giving these 950,000 members a voice in regional government. . Specifically, my work entailed event planning, individual constituent assistance, community outreach, and occasionally, speechwriting. While most constituent's problems could be resolved rather quickly, some cases I worked with involved multiple agencies (e.g. Child Protective Services and Pro Bono Attorneys) and took weeks to settle. Here I was fortunate enough to become familiar with how state bureaucracy works in conjunction with its legislature to positively impact the surrounding world. Show less

Performing elementary data retrieval and analysis Working with IT to install drivers, managing software/hardware, etc. Entering all deposits into AR's internal database.
