  Berkeley, California I worked as an intern at polySpectra for two summers (2017-2018). In 2017, my tasks included characterizing the properties of and made modifications to the 3D printers which were used for testing new resin formulations in order to better understand and improve the printing properties of the polymers; conducting several ASTM tests to confirm the properties of the polySpectra resin; and beginning a project to determine suitable additive to create composite resins. In 2017, my tasks included characterizing the properties of and made modifications to the 3D printers which were used for testing new resin formulations in order to better understand and improve the printing properties of the polymers; conducting several ASTM tests to confirm the properties of the polySpectra resin; and beginning a project to determine suitable additive to create composite resins. I communicated my progress to the team in weekly meetings and in a final presentation given at the end of the internship. In 2018, I organized and led a project to develop new composite polymer resins to improve mechanical properties of the polySpectra resins. This included using testing equipment (Instron and DMA machines) to determine mechanical properties of these composite resins. I wrote weekly reports and gave weekly presentations to share results with the team, and I delivered a final presentation at the end of the internship. Show less
