Bio
Dave Ward
I have had the distinct privilege of working with Charlie when he was on the National Board of Directors for Wounded Warrior Project and then as a First Team Member when he served as Executive Vice President of Policy and Government Affairs at WWP. I have incredible respect for Charlie's military service and his continued commitment to this country. He has a passion for supporting others and changing lives. It is hard to conceptualize the amount of lives he has positively impacted over the course of his life. He is a passionate executive with a servants heart. Charlie lives his life with an incredibly high level of integrity and he is someone I look up to and admire. Charlie is someone who does what he says he is going to do and he is incredibly reliable. He has the courage to speak up and let his voice be heard and he does so with warmth, humility, and professionalism. Charlie is a strong Level 5 Leader and is fiercely committed to making a difference. Your organization would be very fortunate to have Charlie Abell on the Team.

I've known Charlie in various capacities over the years, and simply put, he is a great leader. To be sure, no one knows military personnel matters better than Charlie, as evidenced by his time and tenure on the Hill and in OSD, but I've also had the privilege of serving under his leadership in one of the most controversial initiatives DoD has ever undertaken, and over the course of the many months involved in that effort, I found him always focused, calm under fire, and caring for those who served with him -- all hallmarks of a great leader.

Executive Vice President for Policy and Government Affairs for the Wounded Warrior Project. Wounded Warrior Project exists to foster the most successful, well-adjusted generation of wounded service members in our Nation's history. Our mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors. WWP has programs to assist wounded warriors in the areas of Engagement; Mind; Body and Economic Empowerment. WWP programs are designed to supplement not duplicate programs offered by the government and are offered to warriors and their families and caregivers at no cost. As the EVP, Policy and Government Affairs, I translate the needs of the warriors into workable policy goals to seek Congressional or Administration support for new or better programs to assist wounded warriors.
