Through my forecasting expertise, I was able to come up with compelling weather stories to represent the most relevant local weather conditions that affected viewers. Operation of Recording Equipment: Operated recording equipment during the show's production, ensuring smooth and professional broadcasting. By effectively managing camera angles, lighting, and audio, I contributed to the production of high-quality videos that enhanced the viewing experience for the audience. My key responsibilities and achievements included: Blog Writing and Graphic Design: Wrote weekly blogs focusing on the history of instrumentation at the Mount Washington Observatory, providing engaging and informative content for the organization's website. I also created graphics in Photoshop to be used as advertising material on social media platforms to promote their annual Seek the Peak fundraiser. Portable Weather Station Assembly and Coding: Assembled and coded a mobile weather station using a Campbell Scientific CR-6 data longer and several instruments for use at the summit of Mount Washington, ensuring accurate data collection and contributing to ongoing weather monitoring efforts during the summer months. IT Director Shadowing and Mesonet Network Maintenance: Shadowed the director of IT and assisted in maintaining the Mesonet network of weather stations. This involved troubleshooting issues, conducting system checks, replacing hardware such as batteries and anemometers, and ensuring the proper functioning of the network to support accurate data collection and analysis. Shift Change Meetings: Actively participated in shift change meetings, collaborating with meteorologists and other team members to discuss weather observations, ongoing projects, and data analysis. Data Collection for Research Projects: Supported an ongoing snow-water equivalent monitoring research project by collecting and recording data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity. This involved hiking to the monitoring stations at the base of Tuckerman's Ravine, digging out equipment from the snow, adequately measuring snow water equivalent, and downloading data from the data loggers using established techniques.
