Project engineers successfully completed the project based on the engineering profession's values of competence, ethics, responsibility and social commitment. Energy recovery at rotary coolers The project aimed to improve energy recovery of rotary cooler # 4 and to recover the energy from rotary cooler # 3. The energy coming from the oxidation of zinc ore was considered a waste and was returned to the river. The recovery is achieved by preheating the demineralized water that will be used for steam production at the plant. The project increases the steam productivity of the roaster department by around 20,000 mTm and thus reduces the boiler's natural gas consumption by around 20%. A reduction of CO2 emissions of 6% (about 3000 Tm) also takes place. Optimisation of equipments including: Fluidized bed roasters Wasteheat boilers Electrostatic precipitator Ball mills Hot gas scrubber Wet electrostatic precipitator Drying and absorption column SO2/SO3 converter Elaborate and optimize control loops in order to increase the efficiency and reliability of the productions lines Take part in the commissioning of various project in the department Quality insurance coordinator Replace the department manager Member of the Emergency Environment Response Service since October 2014
