Department Head Manager
-
2005 - Oct 2019
Completed the Department Head Management Traineeship in 2014. NRRSL has a large membership of 25,000 across two sites. We have 300 EGMs & 15 MTGMs. Through this Management Traineeship, I was lucky enough to experience extensive time in a range of departments. I understand the workings of each department, saw the pieces all individually & comprehend how they fit together to create an awesome jigsaw- WOW. As a result of the experience I received within this traineeship, my incredible passion for all things Gaming was really born. I spent a year within the Gaming Department & also acted as the Gaming Manager within this time. I’ve gone on to being a fan boy at the expos, furthering my education doing the GMDC course and spent time researching my preferred layouts. I'll admit it- I love Gaming & will always look to further my career with Gaming as a focus, either within a Gaming specific role or an Operations Management role with Gaming incorporated. I am also very confident to manage the following departments & currently have the honour of managing the Function & Events Department: - Gaming - Human Resources - Entertainment - Purchasing - Catering - Functions and Events - Payroll As Function & Events Manager, the role is completely hands on and ever changing. One minute I am walking a corporate customer through setting up equipment for a small meeting & the next I am helping an awesome couple plan the happiest day of their life. Constantly moving & talking! I’m lucky to have an amazing team to work with- considering their needs & balancing the needs of the business at the same time. I’m fortunate to be able to be creative in this position-bringing out a competitive wedding package to boost sales or sampling through tasty trials is all a part of the job. Hard work has paid off & an increase of 30% revenue in my time in this position is something I’m proud of. Prior to 2009 I was employed as a House Manager with the Club. My first management gig and I loved it.
