Duties, Creative Director/President:• Manages a team of four volunteers including an executive board member• Organization’s primary object is representation and visibility of diverse people via the performing arts• Acts as liaison between community members, Art Spoken team and vendors• Plans and executes programming using yearly SWOT plan and calendar • Organizes and hires artists for events; creates contracts and proposals • Creates and manages quarterly and yearly budget • Manages social media accounts and content creation focused on promotion and marketing--ART SPOKEN MADRID is an organization that supports and amplifies voices of BIPOC through the arts. Mission: to build and support a movement of like-minded people to further empower and give visibility to artists and creatives of colo in our community. For all people of color regardless of gender, creed, orientation, class and culture. ART SPOKEN MADRID, has been an organization going on two seasons. Programming includes: Dialogues Series, a facilitated discussion about varios topics that affect the BIPOC community in Madrid. A few past events were: The History of African Presence in Spain and Dialogue on Empathy; Open Mic, like other open mics, there are poets, musicians, actors and now dancers, unlike most open mics, each month features a new theme; lastly La Esquina, a documentary series focused on stories from everyday people, how to maintain joy and what life is like for BIPOC in Madrid.

At VONA VOICES, I was in a week-long poetry workshop. What I learned: the skills, the deep introspection into my self, my strengths and weaknesses in poetry, my poetic voice, and new poetry forms, was indispensable; a truly unforgettable experience! I worked with the legendary Willie Perdomo on campus at the University of Miami with eleven other hyper-talented poets. At VONA VOICES, I was in a week-long poetry workshop.
