  • Supervision of the road maintenance work done by Contractors which included re-gravelling, asphaltic reseals, pothole patching amongst others. • Ensuring that the maintenance and construction of Railway buildings and structures is carried out to acceptable standards and within given specifications and budgets. • Preparing contract and/or tender documents and also drawing up bills of quantities. - Tender adjudication and preparation of technical recommendations. • Project management – Scheduling of work times, quantifying works, resource management and progress monitoring of new projects ie – construction of culverts, Houses , Workshops and new Generator housings . Assuring responsibility for safety and safe working practice by all members of Staff. • Ensuring that all sewage disposal and anti-pollution works are in good working order always. • Developing approved planning indications into practical engineering layouts. • Ensuring that all Railway developments are done in accordance with Local Authority By-laws. • Manage construction projects undertaken by contractors • Engineering design office management – team comprising ,civil technicians.
