Charles was an incredible help to me when our company took a few surprising turns and ended up focused on commercial sales of engineering software. He had been working on that side of our business for a while, but the change required that he step forward into the limelight and he did so brilliantly and without hesitation. He took on many new hats, spruced up existing content and marketing, and I could always count on him to handle whatever needed attention. Charles especially shined at making my life easier as his manager; he has a great sense of what he can tackle on his own, when to get buy in or input from others, and when something really needed to be elevated to the next level of management. He also really grew in terms of his ability to provide feedback and think about how others might be reacting or feeling in the time that I worked with him. He was always willing to learn what needed to be learned for new tasks or projects. He became a leader in the organization through his hard work and recognition of his own skills and benefits to the organization and how to best utilize them in concert with everyone else. I really enjoyed working with Charles and he is someone I will always look to for advice and insight on a broad range of topics.

I worked with Charles in obtaining the GoCart software. I found Charles to be quite knowledgeable about the software and he was always prompt and responsive in answering my questions. Moreover, despite the fact that I had a seemingly endless number of questions, Charles was always patient and took the time to thoroughly answer all my questions. I've never hesitated to throw questions his way as he is easy to talk to and quite friendly. Also, he recommended some other tools that I could use for my analysis and was flexible in extending trial licenses so I had adequate time to fully evaluate software tools. Desktop Aeronautics is fortunate to have Charles Schanke on their team as he brings the perfect combination of engineering background and personality traits that are important for interfacing with customers.
