I was also given the opportunity to devil as I took notes for the barrister over the course of proceedings. I greatly enjoyed this focused engagement with the formalities, facts and points of law relating to the case. On my final day, I shadowed a barrister involved in a case of small claims and saw the way in which mediation could resolve a case without the need for a hearing. I gained valuable insight into life at the Bar and this gave me the confidence to pursue this career interest while at University.
