MamboPay is a Fintech focused on creating transparency and accountability in payments. Many NGOs still struggle with ways of sending out non-conditional payments to off-grid beneficiaries but are still challenged because these beneficiaries do not own bank accounts and neither do they own mobile phones to support mobile money transfers. With MamboPay, we support such NGOs make payments via our state of the art NFC powered cards that are beautifully crafted to offer a Tap-and-Pay experience for the beneficiaries and allowing for real time transfer of funds to the vendors via GSM network. Beneficiaries may not necessarily hold cash in their hands but with our card they have digital money to use in paying for goods and services at supporting merchants. Current money transfer services have a focus on securely delivering money from one party to another, but give very little or no regard to ensuring that such monies serve their intended purpose. Therefore, Accountability and Transparency, remain key pain points for digital money users, and thus present opportunities for innovations like Mambopay. Opportunities / Problem Space MamboPay is addressing 3 key challenges in day to day use of digital financial transactions: 1. Transparency 2. Accountability 3. Personal Finance management The same technology is being used in secondary schools (note that students in Uganda are not allowed to hold phones in school) to support pocket money payments. Parents can easily topup student MamboPay cards directly from their mobile money wallets. Show less
