  • VDB Associates provide domestic and light commercial structural consultancy and planning services. VDB Associates has one principal Engineer, John Van der Beeck FICE, and operates in West London, North Surrey and surrounding areas from its base in Ashford, Surrey.• During my time there I worked as a Junior structural engineer, assisting the company deliver projects, achieve challenging planning permissions, and operate sustainably. • As a small operation with only 5 permanent staff, I was able to take on additional responsibilities. Involving myself in projects from client meetings up until completion. Mediating between parties on party wall agreements, site working hours and a range of other project complications. • Other duties included producing CAD drawings with a wide range of software packages, preparing and submitting planning applications and preparing reports alongside the principal engineer.
