Charles is a passionate community advocate who works tirelessly to support the transition of young people in Tamworth. I was lucky enough to work with him on a region-wide project mapping the career interests and skills of local young people. He worked tirelessly to help to bring this project to completion and I can't recommend him highly enough.

Having been a volunteer of the Friends of Marsupial Park since February 2010, a couple of weeks ago, I was elected by the committee as the new Vice President of the Friends of Marsupial Park. The Tamworth Marsupial Park is a FREE ENTRY family park situated on approximately 120 Acres of crown land, with the overall management of the land under the Tamworth Regional Council. The park is now considered one of the premier attractions for people to visit today, all resulting from the work of tireless and enthusiastic volunteers. The park is home to a unique abundance of wild life, flora and fauna, is distinctive to the region, boasting irreplaceable natural and man-made features only found inside the park. The park is an open area, away from public roads where all members of the community can play and spend time together safely. It is now home to one of the most unique and child friendly playgrounds in Australia, with equipment catering for every child of every ability. IT is a safe playground, fully fenced with a child proof friendly lock, and well away from any roads.

Living in the country and surrounded by farming and agriculture, I have a real passion for seeing agriculture grow and continue to be vibrant and strong in Australia. Every day I hear of good news stories across the agricultural landscape. My role with RSA is to provide quality and accurate advice on the training needs of employers, peak bodies and stakeholders across rural industries. Agriculture is the only sector which markets its products to the entire world's population, we all need to eat, so we all need agriculture and farming.

It is with great pleasure I announce that the Marsupial Park Children's Adventure Playground is now open, within the grounds of the Tamworth Marsupial Park, top of Endeavour Drive in Tamworth. A member of the Friends of Marsupial Park (FOMP) Committee and President of the Committee for the Tamworth Children's Adventure Playground. As a member of the FOMP, we are working on realising the true potential of some 120 acres of bushland on the outskirts of Tamworth. The park is already home to an abundance of native animals, kangaroos, emus, echidna's, goanna's, cockatoo's and a very large walk thru aviary. With around 40,000 visitors a year, the free entry park is already very popular. We've developed a strategic plan, and within this would like to establish an outdoor education centre, where Conservation & Land Management and Animal Management education programs can be based from as well as a future kids club encouraging children to upload stories and highlights from visits to the park using their smart phones and iPads, and a nature based play space is also on the planning table. The playground project has been a labour of love since late 2009, working with the community and world renowned playground designers, Leathers & Associates. What started as an idea based on a similar project in Orange, NSW, to preparing for the final stage of the project, playground construction with some 1000 community volunteers, this project has been something special. We are in the home stretch and looking forward to building the playground dreams of children in our community.
