, I served 13 years in the United States Marine Corps as a technician on the CH-46E (SR&M) Helicopter. I obtained the rank of Staff Sergeant where I was often charged with supervising as many as 20 Marines, sometimes under combat conditions. My duties included regular maintenance and inspections, as well as emergency and field repairs and inspections. I was designated as a Collateral Duty Inspector which entailed the supervision and inspection of maintenance performed by other technicians. Extensive training and awareness of safety procedures, coordinating the maintenance of aircraft between several maintenance divisions, hydraulics, airframes, avionics, to perform complete inspections on all squadron aircraft every 100 flight hours.For 9 of the 13 years I served as Crew Chief on board the aircraft. My duties in that capacity included pre flight inspections, cargo and troop handling, in flight maintenance, and emergency procedures. I was also designated as a NATOPS (Naval Air Training Operations, Procedures and Standardization) evaluator, a capacity in which I was charged with the flight certifications and evaluations of other air crew and potential air crewmen. Additionally, served an Instructor on the Ch-46.This included numerous class room and practical instruction
