      Demonstrated outstanding professional competence, technical proficiency and exceptional leadership on board the USCGC Mallow highlighted during three aids to navigation and law enforcement patrols to the Marshall Islands, numerous Hawaiian Island aids to navigation patrols, numerous NOAA weather buoy deployments, and four Voss oil recovery system exercises to include a Voss system deployment by the Marine Safety office Honolulu oil spill response team that mitigated the impact of 38,000 gallon oil spill that fouled 25 miles of shoreline throughout Pearl Harbor, Hawaii on 14 May 1996. Demonstrated exceptional skills in all areas of seamanship and proven invaluable by training the junior seaman on deck force. Supervision of the non-rated personnel contributed directly to the success of the ship's operation's, including completion of major topside maintenance projects during dry-dock and dockside availabilities and the servicing of numerous aids to navigation throughout the Hawaiian Islands and Kwajalein Atoll. Skills as a small boat coxswain was evident during several difficult deployments of delicately instrumented weather and acoustic range buoys for the Navigational Oceanographic & Atmospheric Administration and the United States Navy. As a member of the P-250 pump team and Gun crew played an important role in helping Mallow earn a "Clean Sweep" during TSTA in December of 1994. Through self-motivation qualified at every position available including quarter deck watch, helmsman, lookout, boom operator, buoy deck rigger, boatswain's mate of the watch, buoy deck supervisor, boarding team member and small boat coxswain. Effectiveness as a boarding team member and small boat coxswain helped ensure the continued safety of the boarding team during law enforcement boarding's. Served as part of the Coast Guard honor guard at U.S. Coast Guard training center Cape May, New Jersey. By meritorious service upheld the highest traditions of the United States Coast Guard.
