Charles has led a team from Liverpool tropical Institute in conducting a rigorous impact evaluation of the MNCH weeks. This evaluation was highly received by government of Nigeria, and was rated by Unicef standard as satisfactory, while for the methodology was rated highly satisfactory. Charles and his team were responsive to the client needs and were able to address any issues in a professional manner and effectively. I recommend Charles for similar work. I had the opportunity of working with Dr. Charles Ameh on two different assignment in two different countries between 2010 and 2016. In 2010-2013, while leading a team from Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, Charles worked directly with my team in UNICEF Sierra Leone to help the Ministry of Health of that country to develop the biggest human resources for health capacity building program in the country. The program reached out to health workers from all the 21 leading public hospitals in the country as well as from 70 Primary Health Care Centres. This program was good for both equity and coverage for a country that was recovering from a decade-long period of civil war that destroyed all public health systems. This investment in the capacity of the workforce later proved useful in 2014 when the country was faced with the Ebola epidemic and the better-organized health staff mounted an immediate response to stop the spread of Ebola. Later in 2015-2016, I gain worked with Charles when he was undertaking a countrywide evaluation of a Maternal Child Health program in Nigeria on behalf of UNICEF. During my interactions with Charles, I found him to be an excellent personality, refined in presentation, and good in planning and follow through. Charles and team quickly established an excellent working relationship with the senior staff of the Ministry of Health both at the headquarters and at the sub-national level in both Sierra Leone and Nigeria.
