I met Charif more than fifteen years ago and since then I have had the opportunity to collaborate on several occasions. Over the years we worked with him on various export promotional projects in Italy. I can definitely say that Charif is a seasoned international marketing professional who thinks out of the box and is always looking for new ways of optimizing results. He stands out for his proactivity, analytical skills, quick learning abilities and strategic vision. In terms of knowledge - he definitely has a hands on approach to international marketing and management, which motivates team members and colleagues. His motivation and attitude towards achieving results has often been an inspiration to me and my colleagues at fruitecom.

The Chilean Fruit Exporters Association (ASOEX) is a non-profit private trade association whose members represent 96% of the total volume of fresh fruit exported from Chile. As Marketing Manager based in Chile, the role essentially included liaising with both public and private stakeholders in the country, with the objective of securing continued financial resources for the implementation of annual export promotional programs in Europe and Asia.During his tenure, he created and managed the first generic promotional campaign for blueberries from Argentina, Chile and Uruguay. The novel project included securing finance and product commitments from the three nations and increasing product penetration in key retail accounts in the United Kingdom, through a nation-wide TV campaign and promotions at the point of sale. Furthermore, during this period he conceptualized and coordinated a special four – part cable television series on the Travel Channel, which showcased the wide range of food and beverage exports Chile has to offer. As part of the role, he also successfully facilitated the increased sales and penetration of Chilean produce, through major retail channel promotions in Japan, South Korea, China, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, France, Italy, Russia, Poland, Ukraine and Turkey. Finally, during this period he coordinated the participation of exporters and growers in international trade fairs in both Europe and Asia, as well as, led and organized b2b trade missions with exporters from Chile to China, India, United Arab Emirates, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia.
