As an Intern I worked as an I worked as a plant operator in the manual DMS plant; o Learning to control correct medium and dilute medium levels, washed sumps to recover medium. Mixing of flocculant. In the control room I was responsible plant start up, recording hourly scale readings and reporting production hourly. Did good housekeeping by cleaning control room and tea rooms and cleanup spillages around conveyors. o At the Automated filter press plant, I was working as a control room operator monitoring process, reporting hourly filtered cycles. Helped with compiling Month-end reports o At the laboratory I as an analyst, and prepared samples for analysis. And helped with doing proximate analysis of samples on a 2 hourly basis. I would report the calorific values and ash of the samples on the mine Whatsapp groups. o During maintenance days I would assist both the process and engineering team to ensure that the plant was available for start-up by 18h00. I would clean scales, do housekeeping on the plant and assist fitters with changing pumps, pipes etc. Show less
