My mission is to create highly meaningful embroidered judaica that will inspire and delight. INSPIRED PAROCHETS, TORAH MANTELS & BIMA COVERS MyParochet by Chana (merged from B’heichalo) is the ‘Mercedes-Benz’ of embroidered judaica based in Bnei Brak, Israel. MyParochet serves synagogues and yeshivas worldwide, creating inspired and original embroidered judaica. I held the prestigious jobs of Head Designer at the acclaimed Rikma Tova Embroidery (Israel) and Ateres Embroidery (London, UK), for over a decade before going on to create MyParochet by Chana. During the course of my career, I have worked closely with world-acclaimed synagogue architects and interior designers to produce eye-catching parochets, Torah mantels, bima covers and more that never cease to inspire and delight. My designs are typically boldly colored, adding a spark of ‘simcha’ –joy- to their beholders. It is evident that my many years of in-depth Judaic studies greatly influence my designs, enabling me to create parochets overflowing with rich Jewish symbolism and values. CUSTOMER SERVICE I pride myself on my high level of craftsmanship as well as my superb customer service. You, the customer, become a member of my extended family, as I assist you in choosing or custom designing the synagogue item that’s the perfect fit for you. I love hearing your stories- about the new shul you’re building, about the special grandfather who will be memorialized by your new parochet or about the lively Bar Mitzvah boy who will be honored with a new bima cover. Because MyParochet by Chana is much more than an embroidery factory- it’s a place to call home and sense the spiritual vibe flowing through Bnei Brak. MADE IN ISRAEL POLICY At MyParochet by Chana, I feel very strongly about producing every item here in Israel. We employ a delightful group of observant Jews to perform the exalted tasks of designing, embroidering and sewing each and every parochet, Torah mantel and bima cover. Show less

Lecturer
-
May 2017 - Mar 2020
I deliver bi-monthly lectures on judaica design at Ofakim College to frum young women in their sophomore year. My main goal is preparing my students for the real world. Even though the official topic is judaica design, I also load my students with tips on entrepreneurship, sales, pricing, marketing, branding, customer service- even important Israeli legal advice that can save them hundreds of $ in the future. The lectures are fun, sprinkled with stories about my latest projects (and even stories about my kids and their latest antics!) There's even music playing in the background to get their creative juices flowing. I must tell you that my teaching method is very avant-guard for the Beis Yaakov system, but even the most serious Rebetzins smile as they peek into my lectures and behold the incredible judaica designs my students have created. Social Media Manager & Copywriter
-
Feb 2010 - Aug 2017
Helping small/medium sized companies grow through clever social media campaigns & effective web copy has been one of my passions since 2010! My favorite case studies: AJUDAICA.COM: When I took over their Facebook page two years ago, they had 28 000 likes (mostly achieved through paid ads). With the help of an ongoing series of cute and catchy custom-designed image posts, I've attracted over 62,000 organic Likes! I carefully plan the image & video posts to cater to their target audience which delights in pro-Israel, pro-Jewish content. I also write 3-4 promotional blog posts for aJudiaca.com on such popular blogs as Kveller.com, Forward.com & JewishJournal.com. A certain depth of ingenuity is required here to weave the aJudaica.com brand into my typically 600-word posts about life as a Jewish mommy. My pen-name for this purpose is Revital Belz. ENTREPOT MOBILE.COM: Raymond approached me with a new men's corporate clothing website in serious need of promotion. Through a series of creative MailChimp newsletter campaigns, we succeeded in achieving a net growth of 9%. I also introduced Raymond to LinkedIn, which he cannot stop raving about. I also give his website a facelift a before each season to give his customers something new and exciting to look forward to! ATERESEMBROIDERY.COM: This website was designed and implemented by ChanaCreative. Ateres is a super-posh Chassidish judaica store in Stamford Hill, England. Clean lines and a majestic-looking theme were my tools to create an elegant online store-front that would encourage savvy shoppers to buy. I personally wrote all the copy for this site. All the tallis bags, Torah mantels, parochets, challah covers etc. on this site are my original designs as well. Show less

Parochet Designer
-
Feb 2008 - Sep 2013
Connecting with Rikma Tova Embroidery's international customers, getting to know exactly what these customers were looking for in a parochet/Torah mantel & translating their vision into a majestic parochet/Torah mantel design. DESIGN MOTIFS While working as a designer at Rikma Tova Embroidery, I was introduced to the different styles and motifs that are prevalent in traditional and modern embroidered judaica designs. I became very familiar with the ins and outs of CHASSIDISH designs- traditional, overly embellished, heavy, gold or gold and silver designs. SEPHARDIC designs are typically adorned with many scrolls, usually showcasing a menorah, crown or luchot- or all in one parochet. I worked on an endless flow of LITVISH/YESHIVISH designs featuring a gate, usually Vilna, but very often something custom-designed to coordinate with the Aron Kodesh. Some of my favorite designs are what we call MODERN designs, which are typically made using senjan shiny applique fabrics. EMBROIDERY TECHNIQUES Aside from designing on my computer, I made a point of overseeing the entire embroidery process, getting to know the materials, embellishments, fringes, tassles, Swarovski crystals, embroidery machines, threads, etc. Show less

I had the fun experience of being a high school sports journalist. This basically meant that I was given permission to skip school and go watch high school sports games and competition- and get paid for writing about them! Such a great job!
