  The stage in Public Affairs at Plastics Recyclers Europe was my very first introduction to the plastics' family in the Brussels bubble! During this experience, I had the opportunity to represent PRE at high-level conferences and meetings that were held in occasion of the European Commission's focus to deliver policies annexed to the Strategy for Plastics in the Circular Economy.During this period, I studied the legislative framework on plastics and the new measures introduced by the 2018 revision of the Waste Package. Thanks to this introductory period at PRE, I developed skills in drafting effective position papers, developing advocacy strategies, organizing events, and drafting a methodology to monitor the intra and extra EU trade in plastic waste from Eurostat.Having a background in European and International studies, fairly broad, but considering myself very motivated to listen and learn, the learning-curve process to the plastic world was that effective only thanks to the excellent PRE team and our Managing Director, Antonino. Being motivated by a common interest, the several occasions to meet, discuss, confront and learn, helped me to engage with other actors representing the industry, networking and building trust with each others.I strongly recommend an internship at Plastics Recyclers Europe!
