    • Embroidery and Embellishment internship
      • 2022 - Present

Since starting the role, I have been able to work with the best fabrics and materials and fully learnt embroidery and embellishment at the full extent of Couture craft. The role has allowed me to learn and refine various hand sewing and embellishment techniques that have been translated into samples and pieces in the atelier. I’ve learnt how to hand-finish couture pieces at the highest level of fashion, which included different stitches and techniques. I’ve also been given the opportunities to work on different fabrics and materials and strengthened my close teamwork skills. Show less

In the early months of the coronavirus pandemic and lockdown I used the time afforded to me to create my own fashion brand and to develop an online platform on social media to market and sell my own products. During this time, I developed business skills and understanding of pricing structures, time management and financial accounting. Working with buyers and clients increased my self-confidence and drive to achieve and succeed. • Volunteer dress maker
      • 2020 - 2021

Volunteering with the charity Dress a Girl Around the World, making items of clothing for girls living in deprivation in countries blighted by poverty. I sourced unwanted pillowcases from local charity shops and repurposed them to make dresses for children. During this time my skillset improved, in particular my machine work. I took great pride in embellishing each garment, making each dress special and unique for each little girl. Working for a small independent fashion retailer in a boutique market town with a strong tourism trade. Responsibilities included in-store marketing, specialising in creating strong, bold and memorable window displays. During this time, I developed excellent communication skills that helped drive sales and the ability to work as part of a strong team. I was also able to study trends and better understand high street and consumer habits. Working for a small independent fashion retailer in a boutique market town with a strong tourism trade.
