I worked with Cenn first on China related affairs over a decade ago, when he was leading China advisory work at one of the UK's leading strategic communications consultancies. He was then, as he is now, a passionate advocate for greater engagement between the UK and China, and has worked tirelessly to build bridges in political, commercial and cultural channels throughout his career. Hatching Dragons is the latest iteration of that work and is a testament to his commitment to ensuring that the UK develops the social infrastructure to nurture greater understanding between China and the UK. Cenn is a brilliant entrepreneur, is always positive, full of energy and is a pleasure to work with.

Raise Your Hands believes there is an injustice in the UK charity sector. There are a huge number of small charities out there that transform lives every day. They do amazing work with real impact and yet they still struggle for funding. Small charities don’t have big marketing teams and budgets to reach lots of people. That means the largest 1.2% of charities in the UK receive 70% of the income. We want to address that imbalance. Our mission is to provide a sustainable source of funding for exceptional small charities. We research and select highly effective charities and support them by raising money and their profile. Our focus is small charities working with young people. We also believe charity needs a fresh approach. Giving shouldn't mean hassle and stress for people who just want to help out. Our community of members give through positive collaboration and have a huge impact by harnessing the power of community. As a member you pay a flat monthly fee, with no follow up asks, and 100% of that money goes directly to our charities. No clipboards in the street, cold calling or negative marketing. We carry out extensive research to select charities that have the most impact on the lives of young people. This means you can be sure your money is well spent. In return, we offer you a chance to engage with our charities on your terms and have your say. Show less

Edspace is a London-based community and co-working space for everyone who wants to transform education – teachers, charities, businesses, social enterprises, investors and accelerators. It works with Emerge Education, the UK's only education specific incubator that aims to provide educational start ups with access to capital, mentorship and an engaged business and investor community. I'm supporting the team with their business development and networking / engagement work to drive further participation in both programmes Show less

The 48 Group Club is an independent business network committed to promoting positive links with China. The Club’s history goes back to the early 1950s, when the founding “Icebreakers” were the first Westerners to break through the worldwide trade embargo on China and establish mutually beneficial trade relations with the newly formed People’s Republic of China. The Club now has over 600 British and Chinese members, both corporate and individual. Member companies and institutions vary in size from the multinational to the micro and come from all sectors: industry, commerce, government, education, sports, culture and the law, and others are high-level politicians, diplomats, academics and individuals and groups focusing on cultural relations. The Club offers an extensive programme of events that are an important – and often key – means of establishing and maintaining contacts (guanxi) for those active in building friendly relations with China in any field from commerce to culture. The Young Icebreakers is an initiative to develop Chinese and Western leaders of the future and was created by 48 Group Club Chairman, Stephen Perry and China's former State Premier Wen Jiabao in 2008. Commodity is the longest established executive search / head-hunting consultancy that is exclusively focussed on helping companies and individuals active in the global commodities and raw materials trade come together. Our depth of knowledge of both the commodities markets and the individuals who drive those markets (currently 45000 and counting) is almost unique in our sector, and we work with some of the biggest and best (which doesn't necessarily mean the biggest all the time!) names in the business, all around the world through our offices in London / Houston / Geneva and Singapore. Cennydd was brought into the Commodity family in 2011 to develop and head up our China in bound search function. It's no secret that China is the most important market for commodities in the world today and will remain so for some time, as the locus for pan-Asian development and trading activities. Increasingly our clients are looking to secure the best human capital assets in-market to help them ensure that there place in China's commodities story will continue to grow over time and it is Cennydd's job to ensure that we do just that on behalf of our clients. But this doesn't just mean using LinkedIn to reach out to the existing players. After living and working in China for years, Cennydd has developed a deep understanding of the language, the culture and the business community, which allows him to reach into (often Chinese language only) locations that our competitors cannot and root out fresh talent that might have otherwise been missed. China search is a fresh investment for us and we're building our capability day by day but already have 5 solid case studies under our belt in sectors as diverse as Chemicals; Fertilisers; Steel; Metal Ores and Alloys and related Dry Bulk. Cennydd started at the Bell Pottinger Group in its renowned Public Affairs practice (BPPA), working up political counsel for public and private bodies in industries as diverse as utilities to the defence and security sector. Having studied Chinese at University, he set about developing a China business development strategy and engaged the senior management of Bell Pottinger Group and Chime Communications, Bell Pottinger Group's holding company. His view was that China's communications need was so vast that there had to be an integrated approach adopted to best answer that need and so worked to convene an action group at the senior levels of the company. Working with David Hill, Tony Blair's former Director of Communications, he developed a political engagment programme that saw him and David assume positions as unofficial consultants to the former Chinese Ambassador, now Vice Foreign Minister, Mme Fu Ying, between the periods of early 2008 and 2010 when she was promoted. He also set up a strategic partnership with a communications group based in China to help Bell Pottinger and Chime extend their reach into that all-important market, a partnership which saw them secure a Chinese government contract for the development of an international financial centre. Aside from his China BD duties, Cennydd worked with some of the most senior consultants in the group on strategic campaigns for governments and multinational corporations as well as managing all public sector contracting through the COI on behalf of the Group's 17 wholly owned agencies. His duties were to assess and analyse COI briefs, engage Bell Pottinger practitioners who had the most relevant expertise for the brief and co-develop ideation for pitch submission. In this, we secured 6 out of 7 potential rosters in 2009. Cennydd left Bell Pottinger in April 2010 to follow his China contacts back to Beijing, where he was awarded a Chinese government scholarship to study at Tsinghua University. Show less
