  In my research, I look at the role of the Indian communities in the Tanzanian society. I explore the Indians' life stories, visions of the future, private and business networks, and self-understanding, and I look at the ways in which they manage their role as 'others' in Tanzania. I am interested in understanding how 'the possible' and 'the potential' influence the daily lives of the people of Indian origin, and how a marginal position in society both acts as an obstacle and a driving force.

  Together with Ane Bonde Rolsted I produced the documentary 'Drawing Dreams' about a strong Rwandan woman who teaches orphans to draw their dreams in order to reach them. In addition we created an exhibition with 20 photographies. The exhibition was shown in several libraries, schools, banks and cafés in Denmark.
