  Job Title: Recreational Assistant (flex) NF-02 position Job Summary: Under moderate supervision and with moderate latitude for independent action supervise and manage the day to day operations of the Woodshop. Responsibilities: Maintain, manage and improve Woodshop as a clean, functional, well-organized and safe working environment. Maintain all equipment and materials in optimum working condition. This will include some trips off campus for the procurement and repair of items. Supervise, train and manage patron workers. Organize and coordinate patron workers’ schedules and shop open-hours for daily opening and closings. Supervise and assist patrons in shop projects. Maintain inventory of materials, sign-in books shop equipment and time usage. Maintain associated physical plant of shops; includes end of fiscal year clean-out. Work cooperatively with faculty, other area shop technicians and volunteers. Train patrons, faculty and staff on use of new equipment and procedures. Assist patrons in technical aspects of shop related safety procedures. Work cooperatively with patrons in support of Morale, Welfare and Recreation. May build equipment and furniture, and customer orders as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety and new equipment assembly and maintenance ensuring compliance with health and safety code requirement. Report any hazardous and dangerous conditions or accidents in the shops; ensure that proper actions are taken to correct these conditions. Assist with planning and improvements for shops; research and make recommendations. Show less
