  • Work extensively with other band and choir directors. • Recruit and instruct all beginning band instruments. • Assist with the High School Band by teaching sectionals, private lessons and occasionally teaching the Symphonic Winds and Concert Band. • Prepare 4 concerts a year and marched in 2 parades a year. • Participate in State Region events and prepared students to compete in these events: Region Jazz Band, Concert Band, All-State, Concert Assessment, Marching Assessment, and Solo and Ensemble. • Manage my school band budget, paying bills and helping to coordinate and run 3-8 fundraisers a year · • Organize parents to work at concession stands, fundraisers, and to participate in our Band Booster program. • Motivate beginning musicians to learn and develop the appropriate skills needed • Use technology to enrich student's learning environment • Assist with organizing and hosting marching contest, honor band clinics, and assessments. • Use achievement charts to accelerate student learning. • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students' varying needs. • Attend 2 or more staff meetings each month and served on the School Discipline and Climate Committee. • Employ a broad range of instructional techniques to retain student interest and maximize learning. • Communicate with peers, colleagues, administrators and parents to meet and exceed teaching goals. • Create lesson plans in line with state curriculum and school curriculum standards. • Teach 6 periods of band for grades 7 through 12 each day. • Select textbooks, equipment and other instructional materials. • Act as a positive role model for students and colleagues.
