The job consists of the following tasks: • Maintaining and monitoring of the LANs • Installing, configuring and managing the servers • Installing, maintaining and monitoring third party and applications software • Performing and controlling backups • Installing and configuring desktop computers • Providing first level assistance, advice and support to local users • Providing telephone support to other IOM regional offices • Travelling to other regional offices as needed • Training of staff members on IT applications • Installing, configuring, maintaining other IT devices (printers, scanners, etc…) • Planning future upgrades of systems, computers and software • Establishing relationships with local partners and suppliers • Assessing needs for purchase of new equipment and network cabling • Procuring IT equipment and software Procurement/Logistics area • Responsible for procurement activities, including contracts with suppliers of goods/services, ensuring that the Organization’s procedures are strictly followed • .Solicit bids, quotations, and tender documents; oversee bidding process and provide support for procurement transactions, analyze them for conformity to specified requirements; • Prepare Purchase Orders and ensure receiving authorisation from Chief of Mission; • Monitoring the insurance coverage of the IOM property (renewals, claims) including inventory and equipment.
