Bounce Design Inc. is a graphic design and brand strategy company in Winnipeg, Canada. They have a large base of both national and international clients. I was tasked with writing and producing a comedy commercial for Bounce that would enhance and bring awareness to their brand while generating new streams of revenue. An unscripted TV series I wrote, developed and signed with Bunim-Murray Productions. 'Bird' featured the dysfunctional, real-life Wiens family. Thirty-five year-old father Dallas Wiens was America's first ever face transplant recipient. Mother Jamie is a substitute teacher with bipolar disorder. Fourteen year-old daughter Sam is unsure if she's a lesbian or straight and twelve year-old Lucas struggles with childhood obesity and has been expelled from school for threatening to blow it up. Responsibilities included mediating and negotiating with attorneys, production company executives and the on-screen cast. We shot the sizzle in Texas and meetings with A&E and Netflix ensued. Long Island Adoption was an unscripted TV series I created, developed and signed with Screaming Flea Productions--a company that created the show Hoarders which won a Critics' Choice Award in 2011. The show centered on Tom and Gloria Costello who made a life-changing decision to adopt 12 children with special needs, and an assortment of physical and behavioral disabilities. Responsibilities included mediating and negotiating with attorneys, production company executives and the on-screen cast. The show's concept was deemed 'good' by networks, however the age of Tom and Gloria was considered 'too old' for the demographic being targeted. Show less

My first writing job after completing my BA in Writing from York University and my Bachelor's in Education from the University of Ottawa was a five year term in FM radio. Writing ads for Dodge, Ford, McDonalds, Tim Hortons, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware and other businesses while also writing newscasts while delivering a 5 hour per day radio show. Each show consisted of interviews, content writing, accurate weather reports and breaking news.
