Founder & Director
-
Sep 2019 - Present
I founded We are Vega, along with my daughter, as a way to break down the barriers & demystify therapy, helping people find the thing that really work & create awareness around mental health. A hub of support to engage with therapists as they show you how they work, teaching people what they are up against and why, making sense of it. We aim to make mental health services accessible to all who need it, in as many ways as we can. We are continually growing and developing to meet the needs of the community who engage with us.

Catriona Morten Psychotherapy Private Practise
-
Aug 2017 - Present
I am a sensorimotor psychotherapist and EMDR practitioner. I have worked for the NSPCC in a specialist team and managed a therapeutic team in the NHS CAMHS service for six years. For the last four years I was Clinical Director at Khiron House trauma clinic a residential facility. I am now building up a private practice and a wider network of working relationships. Working with trauma and attachment difficulties requires a different approach to traditional talking therapy. I help people gain control and understanding of their triggered nervous system and to manage the physiological sensations they feel in their bodies. I help them overcome and process the incidents which have haunted them from the past. My clients are given the freedom and confidence to form healthy relationships and make choices which are right for them.

Clinical Director
-
May 2014 - Jun 2017
I took over the role of Clinical Director at Khiron House. This meant that as well as my responsibility for the delivery of therapy and care, I also took over general running of the clinic. All decisions regarding staff, training, admissions and development of our services were under my management. The clinic went from a capacity of 8 to 12 when we moved to new premises. Clients leaving the clinic were significantly better and most stayed out of hospital and made significant improvements in their lives.
