A/Prof Cathy Segan is Behavioural Scientist at Quit Victoria and an Honorary Principal Fellow at the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, University of Melbourne. She has extensive experience in tobacco control, research management and program evaluation. Her primary interest is smoking cessation, specifically the clinical, theoretical and structural aspects of quitline service delivery. Cathy co-authors quitline counselling protocols to tailor for the needs of priority groups including people living with mental illness, people living with substance use disorders, people living with cancer and pregnant women. She is involved with numerous translational research trials examining the effectiveness of these counselling protocols in real world contexts.
