Ruth Eason School serves students with disabilities from 3-21 years. There are approximately 100 staff for 150+ students. Our students have moderate to severe cognitive disabilities and many also have physical disabilities. Our teachers use positive behavior interventions, multi-sensory instructional techniques and instructional technology to provide our students with every opportunity to acquire and apply new skills. Every classroom is equipped with a Smartboard and teachers and therapists (PT, OT, Speech, etc.) work cooperatively to maximize student progress.

The Pathways School Springville and Re-Entry at Duval High school in Lanham began as a collaborative effort of the Pathways Schools, George Washington University, and Prince George's County Public Schools. Our mission was to transition adolescents with serious emotional disturbance from more restrictive placements to the mainstream high school setting. It was the first school in Maryland to provide a nonpublic school program within a public school. As Director/Principal I was responsible for the operation of the education program at both locations.
