Training new admin staff on all departmental processes and computer systems. Delegating tasks to my admin team. Effectively liaising and communicating with all levels of staff in theatres and other departments to ensure the smooth running of operating lists and patient appointments while maintaining patient and staff confidentiality. Arranging the induction of new trainees on a 3 monthly basis. Updating the trainee handbook and training materials. Arranging locum doctors and their accommodation. Processing financial documents such as invoices and claim forms. Organising and running all regional educational courses provided by my department. Producing reports, e.g. financial, absence, overtime. Taking minutes, creating agendas, running consultant diaries, booking rooms and catering for courses and meetings (including Clinical Governance/QSPE). Providing general secretarial support for all members of the anaesthetics department including the Principal Lead Clinician and Clinical Services Manager. Maintaining leave and absence records for all anaesthetists. Being the first point of call for all contact with my department. Problem solving, prioritising tasks and conveying all changes to the rota to those it will affect. Procuring stationary and other goods and services needed for my department. Organising social events such as the Christmas Party. I also helped to introduce a computerised rota system. Show less
