I decided to take a whole different approach from my last career. Not only did I challenge myself to sell in a completely different field, but I also selected a company that supplies raw materials. It was a hard decision to make. I truly love the Automotive Aftermarket World and have a lot of knowledge in that field that I felt I should have still utilized. Yet, I also felt the desire to learn about other industries. It is a great feeling when you do well in a new venture. Not only is it exciting but it solidifies who you are as a professional. I now work for a Fortune 500 company and work directly with production and corporate to grow a division in Elkhart, IN. Although I miss many of my previous business associates and think of them often, I am glad for this new role and opportunity. Show less

    • Southwest Territorial Sales Manager
      • Jul 2005 - Mar 2014

I was hired for inside sales and quickly moved to territorial outside sales with a region of 5 mid western states. I traveled one full week every six weeks and spent the rest of my time working from the office. I grew part of that region (3 states) from a truck load of product being delivered every two weeks to weekly. Much of this credit was being able to close a dealer whom owns 6 stores. In 2008 I gained more territory to include 13 states, averaging 3.5 million, and expanding the company into the Colorado and Dallas regions. I also grew into Canada, the Ontario providence. Once I grew into Ontario they added another sales representative and gave me the title of Southwest Sales Manager. I then began traveling one full week every four weeks. I would blend my trips with visiting existing accounts as well as prospecting new accounts if there was an open territory. During this same time, starting in 2009, I also implemented a Freight Drop Ship program for our tonneau covers.. We are the only painted fiberglass cover that offers this type of program. We now sell to ecommerce accounts, such as, Auto Anything, Tonneau Cover World, Real Truck, and Auto Accessory Garage. While I was the Southwest Sales Manager I also was an intricate part of other special projects which included adding more options/accessories to our product, playing a vital role in the development in the website. (www.ranchfiberglass.com), and working annual tradeshows, which includes the SEMA show. Show less

I was hired in as a customer service representative and within the year I was promoted to the inside sales team. I received multiple awards for “Big Dog” which was a monthly award given to the sales representative for the most sales growth. Before Keystone Automotive bought them out I was part of a special sales team that solely focused on prospecting and working with new accounts. Once Keystone bought them out I choose to look for my next venture. Keystone ended up laying off most of the sales force before finally closing the call center after a few years after the buyout.
