Having moved back to England in the autumn of 2019 and taken ownership of solar powered, fully electric, 57 foot long narrowboat 'Coroskeir' in August of 2020, I now find myself moving water around the waterways of the East Midlands. After seven years working as the Senior Regional Officer and slowly building the Butterfly Conservation team and branch in Northern Ireland, I am now working here as Head of Conservation. This more strategic role has increased my ability to work with other partner organisations to develop larger scale and longer term conservation projects here including the 2017-2021 INTERREG Va Programme in NI, ROI and Scotland, supporting the All-Ireland Pollinator Plan, helping to develop the #Butterfly21 All-Ireland Atlasing project and working closely with governmental departments on developing conservation solutions for our threatened species, especially the Marsh Fritillary.
