I am part of the Information Resources and Content Team with particular responsibility for the Library Management System, currently VSmart from Infor. I migrated the system from Innopac from Innovative Interfaces in 2010. I manage the acquisition of print and individual ebooks working with various stakeholders and suppliers to gain best value for money and benefit for our students. I line-manage three staff members who assist with this process. I participate in SUPC library meetings. We acquire our stock shelf-ready for the most part but I catalogue donations and ad hoc purchases using MARC and classify using Dewey. We have recently subscribed to Talis Aspire and TADC and I was heavily involved in the system setup for this and subsequent initial list creation. We are working to embed this in academic life in liaison with our Academic Liaison Librarians. We use eprints for our Institutional Repository hosted through ULCC. I assist in the local management of the service.I have previously (in this job and my former employment) managed serials collections and have been a Subject Librarian for Sport and Management Schools.
