I was responsible for devising a field data sampling plan for three separate marshes in Delaware. Over two years, I collected over 1000 elevation points and constructed three tide gages. I frequently downloaded data and calibrated the water level loggers from the three tide gages. One of my primary responsibilities was the geoprocessing and analysis of all raster and vector data using ArcGIS Pro, R Studio, and Python. Graphs and visual mapping products were developed for academia and the public using ArcGIS Pro and Inkscape free vector graphic software. Results from the study are reported in my master’s thesis.

As an employee of the Delaware Geological Survey (DGS), I was responsible for the field data collection and geospatial analysis of three different GIS projects across the state of Delaware. I collected over 300 GPS points across Delaware’s National Estuarine Research Reserve. I utilized ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro on a daily basis for geoprocessing, spatial analysis, and the production of high quality visuals for reports.

    • UD Water Intern
      • Feb 2017 - May 2017

As an intern, I conducted vegetation, habitat, and water quality surveys for a proposed arboretum at the University of Delaware. My colleagues and I analyzed the survey data and produced a report of our findings to the director of the Delaware Water Resources Center. Using ArcGIS products, I developed a map of the arboretum detailing trails, educational areas, and other potential park amenities. I developed a research project that studied the groundwater surface water dynamics of a tidal salt marsh. I was responsible for managing all aspects of the project from fieldwork and analysis to presenting the results at a professional conference.
