I’ve progressed through a range of finance and project management roles, including finance change and transformation positions. In 2017, I was promoted to Financial Manager of Purchase to Pay. Highlights included: ● Galvanised team of 29; overhauled key P2P transaction areas. ● Tightened control; automated systems and increased user accuracy from 50% to 95%. ● Turned around performance and morale of team; adapted recruitment strategy to secure several high-quality new staff. ● Spearheaded new apprentice scheme, working with HR and recruitment partner. ● Headed off breakdown of key supplier relationship by resolving complex, long-standing debt. Before that, I played a lead role in the Management Accounts Service Transformation team, including a comprehensive overhaul of pay forecasting, which I standardised across 35,000 staff. Successes included: ● Established best practice pay processes with automated forecasting, newly aligned to HR workforce planning. ● Saved c. £1.2M pa by streamlining process; 30 staff taking two weeks down to 4 staff, taking a week. ● Optimised configuration of Oracle Cloud with key input to implementation project. I also provided project management as a Finance Business Change manager, defining a future-focused financial management vision. Key to the project's success was buy-in from senior stakeholders, secured while motivating a cross-functional team of volunteers. In my first management accounting role, I overhauled Board reporting on a £10BN annual budget, driving major gains in efficiency. Major achievements included: ● Introduced better systems, process frameworks and communications to drive reporting precision. ● Strengthened relationships with internal and external teams, especially the Financial Planning Unit. ● Educated and engaged cross-functional staff; headed training with regular workshops. ● Improved reporting on monthly forecasting accuracy, robust reporting identified rise from 24th to 2nd in Cabinet Office league tables.
