Katherine Maloney
It was a pleasure working with and getting to know Catherine during my time at the American International School of Johannesburg. As a team member, I can verify that she is incredibly positive and collaborative. As a teacher, I know her to be totally committed to ongoing professional growth so as to ensure that student learning is at its best. I wish Catherine all the best as she embarks on the next stages of her career in international education.

Catherine is an amazing Head of Department/ Learning Leader. She started off at AISJ with little experience teaching Higher level English and no IB experience, and in a short time became not only familiar with the expectations of the programme and the higher level students, but became a leader in the subject. She learns extremely quickly, keeps herself professionally up-to-date and is very well organised and decisive. She quickly became an examiner for the IO, and worked closely with me (the Prinicpal Examiner for the HLE, November session) to understand the requirements of that assessment component. She is creative and flexible in the classroom and I recommend her highly. She will be an excellent addition to your team.

Having lived abroad for a few years, I understand the challenges of moving countries.
