Bio
Melanie Goldring, MSW, MSP
I have had the pleasure of working with Catherine for the past four years, and she has been an incredible mentor to me. She exemplifies what it means to be a compassionate educator and inspiring leader, conducting herself with intentionality and empathy. Catherine commands a room, making everyone in it feel seen and heard, and staff and students alike are drawn to her. Catherine constantly seeks out opportunities to learn, develop, and implement innovative approaches to student-centered education, focusing on improving quality, equity, and access in teaching and learning. As the DREAM Project’s Executive Director, Catherine has immensely grown the organization, which now reaches over 6,500 children and youth each year. She is driven, determined, and extremely hard working. Catherine strives to find the most sustainable and culturally appropriate solutions to social and economic challenges and ensures all key stakeholders, especially those being impacted by the work being done, have a seat at the table. Beyond investing in the task at hand, Catherine invests in the people around her. She ensures her team has the training and resources they need to accomplish their work, and she gives them the space to grow. I appreciate that Catherine wants to see success not only in the organization she leads but also in the people who make up that organization.

Catherine Delaura is a driving force for equitable education. She is mission-driven, strategic, resourceful, and highly motivated. Catherine never ceases to amaze me with her ability to tackle any challenge, no matter how difficult, while ensuring excellence across all aspects of the organization. I had the honor of working with Catherine for many years as my direct supervisor and mentor in the Dominican Republic. One of Catherine’s greatest strengths is her natural ability to identify and nurture talent, as well as collaborate effectively with diverse teams. She excels at bringing teams together and leveraging individual strengths, all while providing the right balance of guidance and independence. I am forever grateful to Catherine for her guidance and mentorship on the various projects we worked on together. She is someone I greatly admire and respect in the field of international educational development.
