Established in 2011, it explores how Canadian Catholics have contributed to and continue to appropriate the orientations of the council in its pastoral life and structures. The centre supports collaborative and interdisciplinary research into the renewal of the contemporary Catholic community in an age of unprecedented social and cultural change.

      Contemporary issues in ecclesiology, especially as they relate to inter-church dialogue and the search for Christian unity including: the history of the modern ecumenical movement, the interpretation and reception of the Second Vatican II, the dynamics of tradition and reform in the life of the church. In some of my work, I have drawn on the work of the Canadian philosopher Bernard Lonergan to develop a critical understanding of theological method and the hermeneutics of dialogue.
