Working as a member of the Faerber Collection team gave me the opportunity to view and handle some of the rarest antique jewellery and gemstones in the world. Part of my responsibilities included assisting the Directors with their purchases for the Collection, some of which were loaned to renowned international museums and exhibitions for their cultural importance. This was my first experience of being involved in a supply chain.I was able to utilize and develop the gemology skills recently acquired at the GIA.Day to day operations involved the purchase and negotiation of diamonds and coloured gemstones from an array of suppliers and organizing their delivery to internal and external workshops. Our department worked closely with the logistics team to provide support for international shipments of high value goods partnering with security companies. One of the aspects I enjoyed the most was working with the Company Founder and the Creative Director to come up with alternative/lesser known gemstone materials for high end watch and jewellery projects.

My first internship no doubt had a tremendous impact and ultimately led me to my chosen field of work.By assisting the Jewellery Department and Experts in preparation for the November 2010 'Magnificent and Noble Jewels' sale, I was able to witness the sale of the Graff Pink diamond for a record price.
