I was an associate in the litigation and dispute management group and specialised in commercial litigation.I provided advice to local, national and international clients from a broad range of sectors. I gained experience of a wide range of international and domestic disputes arising from commercial contracts, shareholder issues, breaches of warranty and professional negligence. I was also involved with advising both Applicants and Respondents in relation to judicial review applications.I provided strategic and commercial advice to resolve disputes without court proceedings or before they reached trial which included settling disputes by way of mediation. My experience at Eversheds also included advising a large international company in relation to the commercial and legal risks involved with terminating distribution agreements subject to different jurisdictions and law, reaching a successful settlement on behalf of a waste management company which was a defendant in a £14 million arbitration, assisting a Foundation Trust with successfully resisting a claim by a locum Consultant for unpaid wages and advising in relation to the enforceability of restrictive covenants in a contract of employment of a client’s former employee.I also completed a six week secondment at one of the world’s leading healthcare companies and assisted the Head of Legal to provide advice to the business. The work included drafting and negotiating various supply and purchase contracts, advising the business of the effect of various contractual clauses and dealing with a claim which was issued by an ex-distributor in the Jordanian Court.
